THANKFUL ARTS STUDIO
The Art Studio has seen all sorts of creativity, from painting with various mediums; to sculpting with rags dipped in glue; to writing. What would you like to try? Maybe we can help you get started.
Some of the things we have to offer you:
ACCOMMODATIONS: Spend a night in one of our secluded cabins. All of our cabins are tiny and rust. They do not have any plumbing but there is an outhouse available to each one and water is available at the farmyard. Each has a bed, table, bar fridge, sink, a few cooking pots and dishes, and a small gas stovetop. There are no showers available yet. Bring your own food or take advantage of the restaurants in our nearby community of Rimbey. Breakfast muffins, coffee, tea, and juice are available in our Tea Room from 8:00am - 10:00am each day.
FARM ANIMALS: Come with us to visit our animals and maybe even help us with the chores
RELAX: Take a friend or a book and spend some time in one of our little garden seating areas and hidden corners
WALK: Stroll along our winding garden walk-ways or take a hike on the trails across our land. Depending on the weather and the height of the river, visitors are also welcome to enjoy the trails on our land that is on the other side of the river from our farmyard. If you hope to take advantage of this possibility please bring your own rubber boots.
CANOE: Go for a canoe ride on the river
STUDIO: Gloria Nesbitt, Artist, welcomes you to visit her Art Studio. Create your own bookmark or greeting card.
GARRETT: Barry Nesbitt, Artisan, welcomes you to visit his Garrett that is situated in the loft above his The Big Red Barn. Have a look at his tooled leather and restored horse saddles. Create your own tooled leather coffee coaster or key fob.
BRING YOUR OWN CREATIVE PROJECT: Whether you come for the day or stay overnight, you are welcome to bring along a creative project to work on while you are here. We delight in and encourage creativity.
HELP TO CREATE: Or, if you don’t have a creative project to bring, maybe you would like help creating something
SUMMER OR WINTER: Although Summers are the most obvious time to visit a farm, Winters are a good time to visit as well. All of our cabins are able to be heated. The animals are here all year. If the snow is deep enough you can join us for a hayride. Or go tobogganing down one of our hills, or bring your skis to go cross-country-skiing on the river, or try out our snowshoes.
FIRES AND PICNICS: Bonfires and wiener roasts, are, except during Fire Bans, available year-round, and we have picnic tables and outhouses available.
STORYTIME: Storyteller, Grannie Glo, brings to life stories of God, His Word, and His love for people.
