1.

Grannie's Grotto:

Besides the main, double bed, Grannie's Grotto also has an upper, double-wide bunk, suitable for an agile individual or two, and little window seat long enough for a child.

The cabin is equipped with an old-fashioned, wood and coal, cookstove; a two-burner propane stovetop; a little, electric bar fridge; and sink with a pail underneath (carry water in, carry water out).

This cute little cabin has electricity, but no plumbing. There is an outhouse around back.

There is bedding on the main bed. Extra blankets and sheets are in the cabin if needed.

Water can be carried from the house or you could bring your own.

Bring your own food. Courtesy muffins and coffee are available at the house between 7-10 am each day. Firepits and picnic tables are available to all our Guests (firebans will be observed).

This lovely, little cabin has an amazing view of the river, and is far enough away from the farmyard, to give the feeling of privacy, yet close enough to make it easy to visit the Studio, the Farmyard, or to walk through the garden.

The Croft

The Croft is situated right next to a raised deck on the west side of the House. Behind The Croft is the Playhouse and beyond that is the winding, arched, tunnel that leads to the little sitting area nestled back in the trees.

The main bed is a double size and has sheets and bedding. There is a cute little loft above the bed accessible by a ladder and there are mattresses on the floor. Extra sheets and blankets are available to nimble, adventurous souls keen on sleeping in the loft.

We have more plans for this little cabin in the near future. Future plans include a small propane stove, a sink with a bucket underneath for carrying out the dirty water, and a small fridge, and a wooden ladder to reach the loft.

Bring your own food. Courtesy muffins and coffee are available at the house between 7-10 am each day. Firepits and picnic tables are available to all our Guests (firebans will be observed).

The front windows face the river valley and have a great view. The trees around this wonderful little cabin protect if from all but the fiercest of winds.

Here is a picture of the view from the Croft while we were in the process of transforming it from a greenhouse to a cabin.

At the moment, the only outhouse available for this cabin is located next to the Studio, so there's a little walk. Our plan is to add another outhouse in the edge of the trees behind The Croft.

The Fish Hut

Our Fish Hut was built by a little dugout, that we named, ‘Lake Rapha’. The idea was that we would keep our "lake" stocked with trout. That has not worked as well as we had hoped. It has been hard to keep the fish alive. But that doesn't stop this from being a lovely little place of retreat.

One of its beauty's is the fact that is is hard to get to. It either has to be  accessed by a hike across the river, and then across two fields, or it by a roadtrip along a very undependable, and often treacherous, lease road, and then a bumpy drive across another field.

Sometimes you can almost walk across the river without getting your feet wet. And there are the OTHER times, when it is too dangerous to even use a canoe to cross it.

But its remoteness means quietness, at least until the wee hours of the morning, if the cows are nearby, and decide to call their little ones to breakfast. Its remoteness also means, that if the sky is clear, there is an incredible view of the stars.

The Fish Hut is smaller than our other cabins. It is equipped with a single-bed-bunk. So unless you want to drag the mattresses onto the floor in order to sleep together, this little cabin is best suited for two people who don't mind sleeping alone.

It has no plumbing. There is an outhouse nearby. It has a little propane fridge, stove-top, sink, which were salvaged from a camper that had rolled. It has a sink with a pipe through the wall to let the water drain away. There is a tiny little heater from the same wrecked camper.

Bring your own food. Courtesy muffins and coffee are available at the house between 7-10 am each day. Firepits and picnic tables are available to all our Guests (firebans will be observed).

RV's and Campers

Bring your RV or camper and park in our driveway. Please ensure that your travel-home is self-contained, as, other than power, we have no hookups.

Another accommodation option for guests is to bring a tent and to set it up in one of our approved tenting sites. We have a lovely tent site that includes a bench with an awesome view of the river.

Our Main Picnic Area is in a semi-enclosed area beside our Studio. It includes nearby a nearby water tap, a picnic table under a gazebo roof, fireside seating, and enough space for a fairly large group of people. Smaller firepits are maintained for each of our cabins. They are also available for day use. Please bring your own food and clean up after yourself. Remember, Fire Bans will be observed.
